Nando's Bright sides
When times are tough, South Africans see the bright side and Nando’s rewards them for it –when days are dark – sides are many.
When load shedding strikes, the quick service restaurant brand's Bright Side promotion gives customers free sides when they order a full chicken through the Nando's app or website. And the higher the level of load shedding, the more tree food on ofter.
This means that during Stage 2 load shedding customers can choose two free sides, while Stage 3 gets you three tree sides.

Nando's loadshedding
Loadshedding power cuts left households cold, dark and hungry, it also wasn’t great for business.
After Nando's installed generators in their most affected restaurants, we targeted potential Nando’s customers with geo-located media to serve hungry South Africans ads (and food) when they needed it most. By using Eskom’s loadshedding schedule as our media schedule, we activated Nando’s banners when loadshedding was at stage 3 or above, directing people affected to their nearest generator-powered restaurant. When power was restored, our banners were deactivated.
